Throw in the towel
- 뜻: 항복하다, 포기하다

권투 경기에서 선수가 더 이상 버틸 수 없을 때 코치가 링 위에 타월을 던져 경기를 중단시키던 관습에서 유래했습니다. 이처럼 더 이상 싸움을 이어갈 수 없다고 판단할 때 “throw in the towel”이라고 표현합니다.
